About Rocky Flooring
When I was in high school, I started learning flooring alongside my dad. I wasn't thinking about starting a business—I was just learning a craft. But somewhere between my first few installations and graduation, I realized something: this industry had a problem. Contractors treated homes like assembly lines. Homeowners got passed between subcontractors and middlemen, and nobody seemed to actually care about the outcome.
After graduation, I bought my first van with money I'd saved. No business plan, no empire vision—just tools, materials, and a truck. I took jobs that interested me, stayed in Greer where I'd grown up, and did every project like it mattered. Because it did. These were people's homes. People who knew my family. People who remembered me.
That first van grew into crews. The crews needed a space, so we opened a showroom. The jobs kept coming because, I think, people noticed we answered our phones. We came when we said we'd come. We didn't surprise anyone with hidden costs or blame subcontractors when something wasn't right—we just fixed it.
We learned fast that every dollar we didn't waste on middlemen could go straight into better materials and better work. So we started sourcing directly, handling installation ourselves, and keeping stock on hand so we could move fast. That meant faster projects, better pricing, and the kind of control you only get when you're not waiting on anyone else's timeline.
'You're working with someone who actually cares what his name is attached to.'
— Owner, Rocky Flooring
Being locally owned isn't a marketing tag for us—it's the entire point. I grew up here. I hired crews from here. When a customer has a question at 7 p.m., they get me, not a callback from a regional office. That matters when it's your home.
We learned early that clear communication prevents almost every problem. We send photos, we explain next steps, we call before we arrive. When a customer knows what's happening and why, they relax. We've found that honesty about timelines and challenges builds way more trust than false confidence.
And we've seen what happens when the owner isn't in the room. You get shortcuts. You get excuses. You get crews that don't care as much because there's nobody there who cares most. I'm at projects because I want to be. Because my name is attached to the outcome.
When you call, you get an estimate quickly—usually within a day. We have materials in stock, so we keep our schedule tight. Your project starts when we say it will. You'll see the same faces from start to finish, not a rotating crew. We show you the work as we go. And when it's done, we do a final walkthrough together because we want you to see what you paid for.
Five years in, we've built this on one simple idea: treat every home like it's ours. It sounds simple because it is. If you're ready to talk about your project, reach out. You'll be talking to someone who actually cares how it turns out.
